L'Ensemble Orchestral de Valencia at 43 Certamen Internacional de Guitarra Francisco Tárrega

Martinez Alpuente will conduct the final competition.

L´Ensemble Orchestral de Valencia and Martinez Alpuente have been invited by the prestigious International Guitar Competition Francisco Tárrega to Benicassim (Spain) of practice for orchestra in the final of the 43 edition to be held from August 28 and September 4, 2009.

The International Francisco Tárrega Guitar Competition is, after Paris, the oldest in the world. Held annually, during the first week of September, Benicàssim, tourist city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the province of Castellon who started off in the 60s the competition has gradually been consolidated into the currently the largest in the world, both for the prizes and the prestige achieved during his 40 years of existence.

To Benicàssim guitarists come every year of high both nationally and internationally. It is aimed at guitar players in concert under the age of 33 years and the purpose is to promote the execution of works of guitar, and especially those of composer Francisco Tarrega.

The festival is protected by UNESCO as a member of World Association of International Music Festivals, and Oscar de Oro for best musical advocacy.
